O.C. mortgage lending surges 28% in ’10

Loans to homebuyers are picking up again this year, and Orange County had the greatest share of Southern California’s home-loan gains, according to a recent real estate report.

Citing figures compiled by MDA DataQuick, the Pomona-based Real Estate Research Council of Southern California reported that lenders issued $5 billion in home-purchase loans in O.C. from January through June, up 28.1% from the first half of 2009.
